Logo Competition

Here at Swindon Interfaith, we are looking for a new Logo!

As we are all about the community, we thought we would open it up to our members and the general public to send in their designs – and so here we are launching a competition!

As we are a not-for-profit organisation, we are offering a small prize of £20 in vouchers for the winner!

All of the submissions will be uploaded to the website and we will open up to a public vote!

All you have to is submit your design by e-mail to swindoninterfaithgroup@gmail.com by 31st December 2018. The winner will be announced in the new year, so please remember to give us your name and contact details so we can let you know!

A few rules & notes

  • You can design the logo in any format, but it must be submitted electronically as an image via e-mail.
  • The final winner will be chosen by the Swindon Interfaith Committee, considering the results of the public vote.
  • By submitting your design you are agreeing for the image to be hosted on swindoninterfaith.org. If your design is chosen as the winner you are agreeing for the image to become property of Swindon Interfaith and used on our Website and in all other marketing materials.
  • By giving us your contact details, you are agreeing for Swindon Interfaith using your personal data to contact you about your submission. We will not hold onto or process this information for any other reason, without seeking your prior permission.
  • These rules are subject to change and alteration at the discretion of Swindon Interfaith Committee.

September 2018

September has seen us drift into more autumnal weather and we will be talking about Christmas before we know it – before then we have some great events coming up on 17th October and 14th November – more information about those events coming soon.

Earlier this week we had our first community service activity as a group of individuals got together to do some litter picking in Stratton, followed by a visit to the Church of the Latter Day Saints.

We’ve also been talking to the organisers of The Journey this month, who are encouraging all members of the Swindon Community to join them in their interactive production of The Nativity Story in Old Town in December. If your interested in taking part, then get in touch with them via their website or Facebook Page.

Litter Picking Event

At our AGM earlier in the year there were several ideas for service projects so our next event is in the way of a small project to tidy up a part of

Stratton.

Date: Wed 19th September

We will meet at 6pm in the car park of Kingsdown Inn, Ermin St, SN2 7PE.

We have permission to park our cars in their car park (from 6 to 7.30pm) across the road from the pub. (at the very far part)

Our litter picking will be done until approx 7.30pm when those with cars should return and move cars to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Highworth Rd, SN3 4QS, behind Rat Trap pub) where we can meet and have refreshments.

It is not far between both venues so for those on foot we can probably finish our activities so that it is not far to go to LDS church.

Please watch the weather forecast closer to the event and come prepared.

Some litter-picker sticks will be supplied but if you have one yourself please bring it with you.

August 2018

We hope you’ve all been enjoying the warm sunshine, over the last few weeks we’ve been keeping ourselves busy in upgrading our website – we hope you like the new format! We have some more enhancements to make over the next few months – so keep checking back for more updates!

We really enjoyed our annual inspirational writings and poetry evening at TWIGs during July, as usual it was great to share some meaningful quotes. This years topic was “Mind, Body and Soul” and we had readings from a number of faith groups, as well as some that were from a non-faith background.

In other news, we had official confirmation in July that we are now officially members of the Interfaith Network for the UK – this is a significant step for us at Swindon Interfaith and we look forward to working with the national body and learning about how we can improve.

Our next committee meeting is on Wednesday 8th August where we will be planning the events taking place in the next few months.

The next event is 19th September, where will be working together to do a Litter Pick in one of our local communities – more information on this soon!

Enjoy the summer break!

June Update

This week (6th June) members of various faith groups joined our Islamic brothers and sisters to celebrate Ramadan. We also joined together in a charity fast, raising over £750 for the Swindon Homeless Volunteers, this is enough to take one person off the streets!

Our next event: “Mind Body & Soul – Faith & Wellbeing” will take place on 18th July at 7pm at Twigs. More details nearer the time.

Keep up to date by joining us on Facebook and Twitter.
