Voluntary Action Swindon (VAS) is proud to deliver the Census 2021 Support Service for Swindon. During the current lockdown restrictions, this advice will initially be provided by appointment and over the telephone only.
If you have community members who may need help completing their Census by a trained advisor, please encourage them to book an appointment between 1st March – 4th May by calling 01793 466650 or by emailing census@vas-swindon.org.
A VAS-trained advisor will call them back at an agreed date and time from a confidential room based at Sanford House to help them complete their Census. It is hoped that people will be able to access digital and other support in a COVID secure way at Sanford House when lockdown restrictions ease.As well as English, VAS currently has trained advisors able to offer this help in Urdu, Punjabi, and Turkish languages with Nepali and Konkani to follow soon.
Please keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook and weekly e-news VAS id (you can sign up via our website here) for any expansion in our service and language offer and for further Census updates.
Language and other support is also available through the national Census Website https://census.gov.uk/.
The VAS website has a number of frequently asked questions (FAQ) about the Census which can be found here https://vas-swindon.org/news/census-2021/
