2021 Interfaith Week

We are very excited to announce our programme of events to celebrate Interfaith Week.

Please see attached a poster which you are welcome to share with your contacts and communities. As ever, all our events are open to those from all faith backgrounds and those of no religious belief.

This year we have a mixture of in-person and virtual events. Joining details of the virtual events will be published on our website, social media and distributed by email in a few weeks time.

Below, you will find some brief details on each of the events:

Sunday 14th – An Evening at the Sikh Gurdwara – 6pm

Join the Sikh community in Prayers, Hymns and SUKHASSAN (putting our Guru Granth Sahib to Bed). Followed by Refreshments.

Venue: Shri Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Kembrey St, Swindon SN2 8AZ

Monday 15th – Devotional Film Night

The Swindon Baha’i community will host an Interfaith Devotional and Film Night featuring short films and discussion, please feel free to bring a prayer or reading to share.

Tuesday 16th – Called To Be Light

Join the Christian Community for a 30-minute vigil on zoom.  Passing the Flame – a shared light shining strong for 30 years.

Wednesday 17th – Meet The Latter-Day Saints – 7.30pm

Join the Latter-Day Saints for an informative evening, where they will be sharing more about their Faith, with a tour of the Church. There will also be a youth Activity for 11-17s. Followed by Refreshments.

Thursday 18th – Muslim Sufi Devotional – 7.30pm

Join in the regular Muslim Sufi Devotional. Followed by Refreshments.

Venue: Al-Habib Islamic Centre, 88 Chapel St, Gorse Hill, Swindon SN2 8DA

Friday 19th – Rally of Hope

Join the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification for a short film and information evening.

Saturday 20th – Celebrating 30 Years of Swindon Interfaith

In 2020, Swindon Interfaith reached a significant milestone – 30 years! We couldn’t hold a proper celebration last year, so we have decided to host it in 2021 instead. The event will be an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on our successes over the last 30 years as well as looking forward to the future.
