Interfaith Week 14th-21st November Activities

This week has been an incredibly successful celebration of Interfaith Week here in Swindon. We would like to say thank-you to all of those who supported us by attending the events both virtual and in person, it was an incredibly successful week and it was an absolute pleasure to celebrate the 30-year history of our group.

Sunday 14th – An Evening at the Sikh Gurdwara – 6pm

We joined the Sikh community in Prayers, Hymns and SUKHASSAN (putting Guru Granth Sahib to Bed). A copy of the slides can be found here, a video with some highlights of the evening is available here. You can also watch a short introductory video about Sikh beliefs here.

Monday 15th – Devotional Film Night

The Swindon Baha’i community hosted an Interfaith Devotional and Film Night on the theme of Prayer, featuring short films and prayers. A video recording of this virtual event can be found here.

Tuesday 16th – Called To Be Light

We joined the Christian Community for a 30-minute vigil on zoom.  Passing the Flame – a shared light shining strong for 30 years. This was a Virtual Event, Hosted by the Christian Community. We have published a summary of our 30 year history on our website.

Wednesday 17th – Meet The Latter-Day Saints – 7.30pm

We joined the Latter-Day Saints for an informative evening, where they will be sharing more about their Faith, with a tour of the Church. There was also be a youth Activity for 11-17s. Followed by Refreshments. Thursday 18th – Muslim Sufi Devotional – 7.30pm

We joined in the regular Muslim Sufi Devotional, you can watch these video highlights.

Friday 19th – Rally of Hope

We joined the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification for a short film and information evening. A copy of the film shown can be watched here.

Saturday 20th – Celebrating 30 Years of Swindon Interfaith

In 2020, Swindon Interfaith reached a significant milestone – 30 years! We couldn’t hold a proper celebration last year, so we have decided to host it in 2021 instead. The event was an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on our successes over the last 30 years as well as looking forward to the future.
